Lincoln residents invited to join the city in Community Night at Ray White Park

[October 07, 2015]  LINCOLN - All of Lincoln is invited to come out to Ray White Park at 901 Short 11th Street in Lincoln, this Thursday evening, October 8th, for The city of Lincoln’s annual Community Night at the Park!

The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with hot dogs, chips, and soda being served by the Lincoln Police and Lincoln Fire Departments. Cookies, brownies, and other sweet treats will be served by the staff of City Clerk’s office.

At 6:00 p.m. the new picnic pavilion that was donated for the park from Together for Lincoln will be dedicated.

Lincoln's new Mayor, Martha "Marty" Neitzel will also be on hand, so it will be a great opportunity to meet the mayor and get to know her more personally. There will also be other Lincoln aldermen on hand as well as city department heads and other city administration.

The city will have on display a police squad car, police Humvee, firetruck, trucks with plows, and other heavy equipment from the city street department

There will be face painting and bag toss and games provided by His Hands Outreach, and the fire department will have it's "Squirt House" set up for some fun with water.

In addition, Putt-Putt golf will be set by the city's Waste Treatment department, with prizes offered.

The Plant the Town Red group, will once again be selling red tulip bulbs to plant now for next year. The bulbs are reasonably priced at 60 bulbs for only $15.

Tulip bulbs for the 2015 Plant the Town Red project will be available, 60 red tulip bulbs for $15.

This annual event is a great opportunity for us all to celebrate community. Whether it be for just a few minutes or for the entire evening, all are welcome. Also, bring your lawn chairs and your cameras!
