Lady Wolverines take three wins over Chester-East Lincoln

[October 08, 2015]  LINCOLN - The West Lincoln Broadwell Lady Wolverines were once again on the road last night but not too far as they traveled to cross town rivals Chester East-Lincoln.

The night started early as there was a 5th/6th grade game prior to the start of the Junior High game.

The Lady Wolverines came out the first quarter with a 19-0 lead and never looked back. The 4th-6th grade team from WLB went on to defeat CEL by a score of 49-3.

Kloe Froebe led all scorers with 16 points as Tori Schilling and Tori Geriets added 8. Also scoring on the evening was Jazmyn Robbins with 5, Elly Martinez 2, Asia Sales 4, Jenna Bowman 2, Alison Turner 2, and Mikaela Anderson 2.

This team will be back in action this weekend in the 6th grade Mount Pulaski Tournament.

Seventh Grade Team

The 7th grade team came out in a swarm and took a 20-0 first quarter lead. The final score of the night was 43-4.

Madison Orebaugh came out with power and scored a season high 18 points as Makayla Anderson added 10. Also scoring on the night with her first points of the season Rachel Brackney with 5. Others contributing to the offense were Asia Sales 2, Karissa Bowman 2, Emily Paulus 4, Abbie Oliver 2. The Lady Wolverines had 3 girls earn leading rebouding title for the game. They were Rachel Brackney, Madison Orebaugh and Abby Stiefvater with 3 rebounds a piece. Asia Sales and Karissa Bowman led the defensive attack with 6 steals a piece.

With the win the 7th Grade Lady Wolverines are now 4-0 on the season.

Eighth Grade Team

The last contest of the night was the battle of the 8th grade teams. The 8th grade team defeated CEL by a score of 64-13.

Madelyn Koehler led all scorers with a season high 26 points as Leah Schneider added 19. Also scoring for the Lady Wolverines were Makayla Anderson with 8, Asia Sales 5, Karissa Bowman 2, Brooke Montcalm 4. Leah Schneider once again did a great job on the boards pulling down 9 rebounds and 3 blocks. The Lady Wolverines used their speed and picked up many steals. Leading the defensive attack was Madelyn Koehler with 9 steals Adrienne Tiffany and Brooke Montcalm also picked up 5.

With the win the 8th grade team is now 7-1.

Both teams will be back in action tomorrow night at WLB against CCS/NHM/ZLS. Please everyone come out and support your Lady Wolverines!
