Lady Wolverines continue to mop up the competition

[October 10, 2015]  LINCOLN - The West Lincoln-Broadwell Lady Wolverines were back in action Thursday at home against Carroll Catholic./New Holland-Middletown/Zion Lutheran Schools.

Seventh Grade

The 7th grade team started the night on fire as they pulled out to a 15-0 first quarter lead. The 7th grade team ended the game defeating the visitors by a score of 50-7.

Tori (T-Rex) Schilling had a season high of 13 points to lead the Lady Wolverines as Madison Orebaugh continued to power up to the basket and finished with 12 points. Also scoring on the night were Makayla Anderson 5, Asia Sales 4, Karissa Bowman 2, Rachel Brackney 4, Alyvia Gannon 2.

The Lady Wolverines also had many girls hitting the boards hard as Abbie Stiefvater, Madison Orebaugh, and Emily Paulus all pulled down 6 rebounds apiece.

As the season has shown there was also many girls contributing to the defense assault by the Lady Wolverines, Makayla Anderson, Karissa Bowman and Asia Sales all led the defense with 4 steals a piece.

What a great team effort. With the win, the 7th grade Lady Wolverines are now 5-0.

Eighth Grade

The 8th grade team took the floor at home and came out ready to please their home court fans.

The 8th grade team came out and took a 22-0 first quarter lead and never looked back, as they defeated the Crusaders 55-4.

Leah Schneider came out with fire in her step and led all scorers with 20 points. Madelyn Koehler followed right behind with 13. Also scoring for the Lady Wolverines were, Makayla Anderson 2, Adrienne Tiffany 4, Karissa Bowman 2, Emily Paulus 2, Rachel Brackney 2, Brooke Montcalm 2, Abbie Oliver 2, and Madison Orebaugh 6.

Leah Schneider also led the Lady Wolverines on the boards with 10.

The Lady Wolverines again used a team effort on defense as Adrienne Tiffany led the attack with 6 steals, Madison Orebaugh, and Madelyn Koehler followed right behind with 4 steals a piece.

Again another fantastic team effort by the Lady Wolverines. With the win, the 8th grade Lady Wolverines are now 8-1 on the season.

The 7th and 8th grade teams will be back in action Tuesday night at Christ the King in Springfield starting at 6:00.
