[October 14, 2015]  LINCOLN - Republican Robert E. Thomas is announcing that he will be seeking a fourth term as Coroner of Logan County. The primary election will be March 15, 2016.

Bob took office as Coroner in December 2004 after retiring from the Lincoln Rural Fire Department. During his firefighting career he served as an officer for many years and retired as Fire Chief.

“As Coroner, it has been my honor to serve the citizens of Logan County. I would like to continue this privilege for another four years.”

“I am proud to be a founding member of the Logan County Paramedic Association and I currently serve as the Board President. I am also a member of the Illinois Law Enforcement & Standards Board’s Mobile Training Unit #10, Illinois Coroner’s and Medical Examiners Association and the Logan County Fire Protection Association.”

“During my years as Coroner, I have been able to administer the Coroner’s Office in a positive, professional, caring and compassionate manner. The Coroner’s Office does has a very small budget and is always under tight budget restraints. Even so, I have been able to stay under budget and I returned unspent budget money back to the general fund every year. I have been able to acquire grants for equipment. With this money I have purchased two vehicles, and updated response equipment, thus saving county tax dollars.”
