Lady Wolverines take two on Tuesday

[October 16, 2015]  LINCOLN - The WLB Lady Wolverine basketball teams traveled to Christ the King in Springfield Tuesday night and walked away with two victories.

Seventh Grade

The 7th grade team defeated the CTK Cougars by a score of 48-12.

Emily Paulus came out on fire the first quarter leading the 7th grade team to a 14-6 first quarter lead. The Lady Wolverines used their pressure defense and held the cougars to a 29-6 half-time lead.

Emily Paulus led all scorers with a season high 16 points.

Tori Schilling was a beast on the boards and also provided 14 points for the Lady Wolverines. Also scoring on the night was Makayla Anderson with 9, Rachel Brackney 4, Madison Orebaugh 3 and Karissa Bowman 2.

Emily Paulus and Tori Schilling came alive on the boards and pulled down 6 rebounds a piece.

Makayla Anderson led the defensive attack for the Lady Wolverines with a season high 9 steals, Madison Orebaugh added 5 steals to assist with the pressure.

With the victory the Lady Wolverines are now 6-0.

Eighth Grade

The 8th grade team took the floor and came out with a slow start, falling behind in the end of the first quarter 7-8. The Lady Wolverines came out the 2nd quarter and played smart fundamental basketball and pulled out to a 29-14 lead. The final score on the night was 54-18.

Leah Schneider pounded the ball inside and had a career high 37 points. Also helping the offensive attack last night was Madelyn Koehler with 11. Scoring for the Wolverines as well were Makayla Anderson 4 and Asia Sales 2.

Schneider was amazing on the boards as she pulled down 11 rebounds.

Madelyn Koehler used her quick speed and led the Lady Wolverine defensive pressure with 5 steals, assisting the attack were Brooke Montcalm and Makayla Anderson with 4 steals a piece.

With the victory the 8th grade team is now 9-1 on the season.
