[October 16, 2015]  LINCOLN - From the office of Lincoln Fire Chief Mark Miller:

The National Weather Service has issued the following NO BURN warning for this area:

Breezy Northwest winds of 15 to 25 MPH and gusts up to 30 MPH will combine with low relative humidity levels approaching 25-percent, to produce an elevated fire danger through sunset.  These strong winds should diminish this evening.

The fire danger is mainly agricultural corn and soybean fields that have been harvested, given the windy and dry conditions, any fire will be able to grow and spread rapidly.  Therefore, any outdoor burning should be postponed to another day.

--The National Weather Service

The Lincoln Fire Department will post when it is safe to burn in the area.
