Lady Wolverines steal two from the Honeybears Thursday

[October 17, 2015]  LINCOLN - The West Lincoln-Broadwell Lady Wolverines were once again on the road last night as they took on the Honeybears of Mount Pulaski.

The 7th grade Lady Wolverines came out with a great amount of defensive pressure and took a 19-0 first quarter lead. The final score of the night was 46-8.

Makayla Anderson led the offensive attack tying her season record of 17 points. Also scoring and helping the Lady Wolverine offensive attack was Madison Orebaugh with 9, Tori Schilling 8, Emily Paulus 4, Elly Martinez 2, Jazmyn Robbins 2, Asia Sales 2.

Tori Schilling and Madison Orebaugh continued to work on the boards, and each pulled down 4 boards a piece.

The defensive attack was led by Madison Orebaugh with 8 steals as Makayla Anderson had 6.

With the win, the Lady Wolverines are now 7-0.

The 8th grade Lady Wolverines took the floor a bit slow paced again pulling out to a first quarter lead of 9-4. The team regrouped and increased the lead at half-time to 27-6. The final score of the night was 51-18.

Leah Schneider led all scorers with 27 points as Madelyn Koehler contributed with 12. Also scoring on the night was Makayla Anderson 6, Emily Paulus 2, Madison Orebaugh 4.

Leah Schneider also was a beast on the boards pulling down 10 rebounds and 5 blocked shots.

Schneider also led the defensive attack grabbing 7 steals.

With the victory, the 8th grade Lady Wolverine team is now 10-1 on the season.

The Lady Wolverines will be back in action Tuesday night against Illini Central in Easton starting at 6 p.m. .
