[October 20, 2015]  LINCOLN - Earlier this week, Lincoln Fire Chief Mark Miller issued a "no burn" warning for the city of Lincoln due to the extremely dry conditions.

Miller issued the warning in conjunction with a Red Flag warning issued by the National Weather Service.

On Monday evening Miller said a "burning ban" is in effect for the city. He expanded on this saying that while the National Weather Service has been dropping the Red Flag warning at night, providing winds are calm, the city is going to maintain its no burn status.

This means there is to be no leaf burning and no recreational fires in the city at any time of the day or night.

Miller said the burning ban would remain in effect until it rains in Lincoln. He noted the weather service has said there are chances of rain in the area on Saturday.
