Master Naturalist to lead nature walks in Kickapoo Park

[October 21, 2015]  LINCOLN - A series of nature hikes for youth and parents will take place in October at Kickapoo Creek Park in Lincoln.

University of Illinois Extension Master Naturalist volunteers will lead the hikes and feature information on the changing conditions in the park during the fall season.

Master Naturalist Jim Struebing said, “A number of parents have inquired about utilizing Kickapoo Creek Park as an education resource and that’s the mission of Master Naturalists, to educate people about nature and encourage stewardship.” The hikes will geared toward parents and youth ages 8 to 16 year olds.

The one hour nature hikes are scheduled for Mondays and Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. – October 19, 22, 26, and 29. Pre-registration is requested.
