[October 22, 2015]  MASON CITY - The Arlee is going back in time October 23-26, with special showings of the Back to the Future trilogy. Part I plays on Friday, October 23rd, Part II on Sunday, October 25th, and Part III on Monday, October 26th. Each show will begin at 7 p.m. and run only once.

On Saturday October 24th, all three films will be shown as part of “Back to the Future Fest,” a daylong event honoring of one of the most celebrated trilogies in cinema.

Back to the Future Fest on October 24th will kick off the festivities with a 10 AM parade that includes the vehicular members of the DeLorean Midstate Club (as well as some other top-secret stars). The parade will begin at the pavilion at the intersection of Jefferson & Morgan, heading north on Main Street to the Arlee. Anyone interested in participating in the parade should contact the Arlee in advance.

Following the parade, the trilogy of films will play beginning at 11 a.m. with festivities ending around 7:30 p.m. During its intermissions, prizes will be given out during trivia and luck-based games, as well as the highly-anticipated costume contest. Participants are encouraged to dress up as if they came from one of the periods visited by Marty & Doc Brown: 1885, 1955, 1985, and “the future” 2015 (be creative!). Of course, characters directly from the films are also welcome. Each “era” will have its own winner, plus there will be three overall winners.
