Lady Wolverines 7th grade team captures 2015 Logan County Championship

[October 28, 2015]  LINCOLN - The 7th grade West-Lincoln Broadwell Lady Wolverines captured the 2015 Logan County Championship this weekend.

The Lady Wolverines defeated Chester East-Lincoln in the first round of County Championship by a score of 40-9.

Madison Orebaugh and Karissa Bowman led the Lady Wolverines in scoring with 8 points a piece. Also scoring was Makayla Anderson 7, Tori Schilling 7, Emily Paulus 6, Asia Sales 2, Abbie Oliver 2.

Tori Schilling continues to be a beast on the boards and pulled down 6 rebounds as Madison Orebaugh and Emily Paulus pulled down 5.

Emily Paulus also played amazing basket defense and had 3 blocked shots.

Madison Orebaugh and Makayla Anderson used their speed and quick anticipation skills and grabbed 5 steals a piece.

With the win the Lady Wolverines were set to play for the championship.

The Championship game drew Mount Pulaski and West-Lincoln Broadwell. The Lady Wolverines came out on top by a score of 55-12.

Emily Paulus led all scorers with 18 points as Makayla Anderson added 14. Also scoring in the game was Tori Schilling 7, Asia Sales 6, Karissa Bowman 4, Abbie Oliver , Jazmyn Robbins and Madison Orebaugh 2.

Emily Paulus was amazing on the boards again and pulled down 5 rebounds and had 3 blocked shots.

Makayla Anderson and Madison Orebaugh continued to play hard nose defense as Makayla grabbed 8 steals and Orebaugh assisted with 6.

With the win the 7th grade Lady Wolverines are now 11-0 on the season and your 2015 Logan County Champions.
