[October 30, 2015]  Oct 29 (The Sports Xchange) - Edmonton Oilers defenseman Justin Schultz will be sidelined for two to four weeks with a back injury, the team announced Thursday.

The 25-year-old Schultz sat out the Oilers' 4-3 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night. He has one point in nine games this season.

In four NHL seasons with the Oilers, Schultz has accumulated 25 goals and 92 points in 212 games.

Forward Rich Clune signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs and practiced with the team later in the day.

Clune, 28, has collected five points (two goals, three assists) and 18 penalty minutes in eight games with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League this season.

 

Clune has played in 120 career NHL games with Los Angeles and Nashville, registering 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists) and 305 penalty minutes.

The San Jose Sharks reassigned defenseman Mirco Mueller to the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League, the club announced. Mueller, 20 had one goal in 39 games for the Sharks last season.

The Tampa Bay Lightning recalled forward Jonathan Marchessault from Syracuse of the American Hockey League, the club announced. Marchessault, 24, briefly saw action with Tampa Bay last season and played in two playoff games.

The Los Angeles Kings assigned defenseman Derek Forbort to the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League, the team announced. Forbort, 23, appeared in two games with the Kings and has five goals in 147 regular-season AHL games.

The Calgary Flames assigned defenseman Jakub Nakladal to the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League, the team announced. Nakladal joined the Flames as a free agent last May and played two games for Stockton this season and had three assists.
