[October 31, 2015]  LINCOLN - Insurance and Legislative Meeting Logan County Safety Complex August 12, 2015

Present: Andy Anderson; Jan Schumacher; Kevin Bateman; Emily Davenport; Dave Hepler; Scott Schaffenacker

Mr. Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:01pm.

A motion was made by Mr. Hepler, seconded by Mrs. Schumacher, to approve the minutes from the July 8, 2015 as amended. Motion passed.

Old Business

1) Property Inventory: Mr. Anderson will begin training Mrs. Barr for the project next week.

New Business

1) Burial Assistance Resolution LO 14-15 89: A burial cost reimbursement for indigent veterans of Logan County. The Resolution designates a maximum of $900 to qualified applicants. A motion was made by Mr. Hepler, seconded by Mr. Bateman to present the resolution to the full board for voting. Motion passed.

a. Correlating Budget Amendment LO 14-15 92: This budget amendment will transfer $900 from the Courthouse Equipment Fund (101-21-56102) to a new fund for indigent burials this year. A motion was made by Mrs. Schumacher, seconded by Mr. Hepler to present the amendment to the full board for voting. Motion passed.

2. Veteran’s Assistance Commission: The Board will need to present a Referendum for the March Primary ballot. If approved by the voting public, it would take a tax levy.

3. Liability of off-duty Sheriff Deputies: SERMA confirmed our Deputies are not covered when volunteering at after-hour events. Mr. Anderson will talk to the City Administrator and Sheriff Nichols about what they think is the best course of action. Mr. Anderson will report next month.

Appointments:

ZBA Appointments: Rod White, Derek Martin
A motion was made by Mr. Schaffenacker, seconded by Mr. Hepler to appoint Derek Martin to the ZBA. Motion passed.

Health Dept. Appointment: Diane Stephenson: A motion was made by Mr. Schaffenacker, seconded by Mr. Bateman to approve Diane Stephenson to the Logan County Tuberculosis Board. Motion passed.

Public Comments: None

A motion was made by Mr. Schaffenacker, seconded by Mrs. Davenport, to approve the bills as presented for payment. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Mr. Schaffenacker, seconded by Mr. Bateman, to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting ended at 7:57 p.m.
