[October 30, 2015]  LINCOLN - On Thursday, the Lincoln College Volleyball team visited Illinois Valley CC in Oglesby, for their final regular season match of the year and came home with their 20th victory in three sets.

IVCC hung with the Lady Lynx most of the way in each set, but LC's height advantage at the net and consistency behind the service line proved to be too much for the Lady Eagles. Twenty-two total blocks on the evening helped Lincoln take the first set 25-20, the second 25-21. A kill down the line by freshman right side hitter Colbi Schertz (Princeton) gave Lincoln a 25-19 win in set three to end the match.

Lincoln's final regular season record is 20-13.

LC Stat Totals:

Katie Jordan 11 kills, 5 points
Kenzie Cooper 9 kills, 5 digs
Colbi Schertz 3 kills, 3 blocks
Cassie Jennings 16 set assists, 5 points
Lauren Wendt 3 kills, 7 blocks
Ashley Robinson 7 points, 14 set assists
Peyton Jones 5 kills, 5 blocks
Gina Moore 4 kills, 2 points
Kayla Dierker 3 digs. 4 points
Aira Hanson 2 kills, 3 blocks
Kassy Dammerman 7 digs, 4 points

LC Coach Mark Tippett: "I am very pleased with where we are at the end of the regular season. It was evident tonight that all of our players have improved their skills this year and that we play well as a team. Our front line was able to control the net most of the match, and we made smart decisions on offense. That is a tough combination to beat and one that I hope to continue to see in the postseason."

Lincoln has the #5 seed in the Region 24 Postseason tournament which begins next Wednesday evening.

The team will travel to play the #4 seed Lewis & Clark College in Godfry, IL for a 6:00 p.m. match. The winner will advance to the Region Final Four to be held at Lincoln Land CC on November 7th.
