Elkhart Christian Church to celebrate 150 years September 11 through 13

[September 08, 2015]  ELKHART - The public is invited to join the members of the Elkhart Christian church next weekend starting on Friday evening, as the church celebrates 150 years of God’s faithfulness.

On Friday, September 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. the church will host its celebration kick-off. On the program for the evening will be praise music, and photo and video memories of the church. There will be updates about the current church ministries and its missionary partners, as well as the church’s vision for the future.

A special message will be brought by former pastor Tom Smith. Dessert will be provided for a time of fellowship at the conclusion of the service.

Services will take place in the ECC2B (old Elkhart Grade School Gymnasium) auditorium.

On Saturday the celebration will resume at 5 p.m. in the church Sanctuary. The event will begin with a soup and sandwich supper at 5 p.m. Immediately following, guests will enjoy an evening long Gospel Singspiration. Everyone is invited to bring a song request for all to enjoy. At the end of the evening, at approximately 7:30 p.m., guests will be invited to an ice cream social.

On Sunday, the church will hold worship service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. All are invited to come join past and present ministers and members for an extended worship service.

Following worship services, a catered Luncheon Banquet will be held from Noon to 2 p.m. in the ECC2B auditorium.

The luncheon will have to be limited to the first 200 to RSVP to the church, so please RSVP at your earliest convenience. To submit your RSVP, please call the church office at 217-947-2726.
