[September 09, 2015]  LINCOLN - Animal Control Committee - Blue Room – Logan County Safety Complex May 13, 2015

Present: Scott Schaffenacker; Kevin Bateman; Andy Anderson; David Hepler; Jan Schumacher
Absent: Emily Davenport
Guests: Julie Parker; Jane Whiteman

Mr. Schaffenacker called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.

A motion was made by Mr. Anderson, seconded by Mr. Bateman to approve the minutes from April 8, 2015 as printed. Motion passed.

Old Business:

2015-2016 Contracts:
Some villages have not met to even sign the contracts.

Pea Gravel: Mr. Schaffenacker and Mr. Bateman have been laying the gravel. Mrs. Whiteman reported she has had residents complain about how the gravel looks.

New Business:

Grant for pet products and food:
Mrs. Parker reported she does not need any more pet food. However, she needs pet products, cleaning supplies, litter boxes etc. No action was taken.

Administrator/Warden’s report: Mrs. Parker reported the finance committee needs to do a budget amendment for the Animal Control insurance line item. Right now, the insurance line only covers Mrs. Parker’s insurance.

Mrs. Parker reported she needs more traps. Mrs. Parker currently charges a $25.00 deposit for a trap. Mr. Bateman asked Mrs. Parker keep charging people $25.00 for the trap and they get the trap for two weeks. If a person does not bring back a trap after two weeks, Animal Control keeps their $25.00.

Mr. Schaffenacker reported next month the committee will discuss charging for traps.

Mr. Foley is a part time worker for Animal Control and Mrs. Parker would like to hire Mr. Foley full time. Mr. Foley is willing to work Saturdays. Mrs. Parker will put together figures for a full time employee and report back next month.

Mrs. Parker reported she needs a new phone. Mr. Bateman told Mrs. Parker to order a new phone and pay for it out of Building and Grounds.

Nothing further to report.

Budget: No concerns at this time.

Public Comments: none.

A motion was made by Mr. O’Neill, seconded by Mr. Anderson to pay the bills as presented for payment. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Mr. Anderson, seconded by Mr. O’Neill, to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 7:15 pm.
