[September 11, 2015]  Sept 10 (The Sports Xchange) - Sam Mitchell will take over as Minnesota Timberwolves interim coach while Flip Saunders is being treated for cancer, according to reports on Thursday.

Saunders, the Timberwolves' coach and president, announced during the summer that he has Hodgkin's lymphoma. He previously said he planned to continue working while undergoing treatment for "very treatable and curable" cancer.

Since the 60-year-old Saunders was diagnosed in June, he has been undergoing chemotherapy.

Saunders took over as team president in 2013 and replaced Rick Adelman as coach last season. The Timberwolves finished with a 16-66 record in 2014-15.

Mike Miller, a forward for the Portland Trail Blazers, has filed a lawsuit against an alleged Ponzi schemer.

Miller is attempting to recover the uncollected balance of a $1.7 million investment in RAHFCO Hedge Funds -- a company created by Vincent Puma of New Jersey and Randy Hansen of South Dakota.

Miller's attorney, Scott Abdallah, said, "Mike has already recouped a substantial amount of his investment from Mr. Puma because of safeguards he took with this investment. He intends to hold him accountable for the balance." (Editing by Andrew Both)
