[September 11, 2015]  FUNKS GROVE - Following is a list of events for children and families at Sugar Grove Nature Center for the month of September.

Little Wonders
Ages 3-5 (with adult chaperone)
Wednesday, September 16;
10:00-11:30 a.m. or 1:00-2:30 p.m.


Kids and their adult chaperones will discover the wonders of nature in this hands-on, interactive class. We’ll go through an entire campout in an hour and a half! Build a pretend fire, hike, star gaze, listen to the night animals, head to bed, and wake up in the morning! A snack will accompany story time (let us know of any food allergies) and a fun craft will be created.

Campfire Program: Moths
Friday, September 18; 6:30-8:00 p.m.


Bring the family out for a relaxing evening learning all about the lives of moths. After the program, we’ll create a fun craft, then enjoy s’mores and beverages around the campfire.

Homeschool Discover & Draw: Butterflies
Ages 6-8, September 24; 10-11:30 a.m.
Ages 9-12, September 24; 1-3 p.m.


Science meets art in this unique program. Participants will study butterflies using photos, specimens, and hopefully by finding some to watch outside. We’ll then take the information and use it to create a drawing.
