[September 21, 2015]  Sept 20 (The Sports Xchange) - Buffalo Bills safety Aaron Williams was taken off the field by an ambulance with a neck injury suffered during the third quarter of Sunday's 40-32 loss to the New England Patriots.

Williams was injured while trying to make a diving tackle on Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman's 22-yard touchdown reception.

He laid on the field for several minutes and was immobilized and placed on a stretcher before being loaded into the ambulance.

The game was delayed more than 10 minutes and several Bills players huddled in prayer before returning to the field.

Williams' father said in a tweet later on Sunday that his son had full movement in his extremities.

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was lost for the game after suffering a hamstring injury while diving to try to make a tackle after throwing an interception against the Arizona Cardinals.

After completing his first eight passes, Cutler threw an interception that Cardinals safety Tony Jefferson returned for a 26-yard touchdown late in the second quarter.

Cutler made a vain attempt to tackle Jefferson and suffered what the team said was a hamstring injury that put him on the sidelines.

Chicago coach John Fox said the 32-year-old quarterback would undergo further tests.

Backup quarterback Jimmy Clausen took over for Cutler.
