[September 28, 2015]  LINCOLN - The Humane Society of Logan County needs humane investigators! It is a volunteer position licensed by the Illinois Department of Agriculture. Humane investigators answer calls of abuse, neglect, and abandonment as they are called into the shelter.

In order to be a licensed investigator for HSLC, one must pass a state test usually given at the end of October or in November in Springfield. The license is good for two years.

If interested, pick up an application at the shelter or call requesting that one be sent. Completed applications are due on or before October 3, 2015. Classes will be held explaining the Illinois Humane Care for Animals Act. For more information call 217-737-4042 or 217-648-2703.
