The villa features an open-living concept. Each of the private
apartment homes has their own private bathroom. The community-style
living of the villa features common areas including kitchen, dining,
family room, library/game room, laundry and beauty salon. The
outside of the secured villa will be beautifully landscaped with a
walking path, sensory garden and an outdoor seating area for
residents and their families to enjoy. This person-directed,
intimate setting provides the best environment for residents to
thrive in. This secured villa has a delayed egress to get in and/or
out of the building. There will be a code at each door to enter or
leave. This will ensure the safety of the residents and give their
family members a peace of mind.
Cindy
White has been named director of The Woods Foundation Garden Villa.
White began her career at TCV as a part-time activity aid in 2009.
She was soon promoted to a full-time position in the memory care
unit and was eventually promoted to the Social Services Aide
position, which she currently holds. “I have much admiration for the
people that God allows us to care for at TCV. I am honored to be
selected as personal care partner and director of The Woods
Foundation Garden Villa. I will continue to carry out our mission at
TCV and promote an environment that fosters genuine camaraderie and
heartfelt sense of belonging,” notes White.
Services provided to residents at The Woods Foundation Garden Villa
are based on an individualized care plan that is created for each
resident centered on their specific needs. The staff will be able to
help with medication reminders and daily living activities such as
bathing, dressing, eating and toileting. There will be three
home-cooked meals per day and laundry and cleaning services are
provided weekly. Along with planned activities inside the villa,
there will also be planned outings for the residents to enjoy.

The staff at The Woods Foundation Garden Villa will adhere to a
‘social model’ of living. This model goes hand-in-hand with TCV’s
person-directed care. Residents will direct the flow of each day.
This social model allows for freedom and flexibility, just like
being at home. It also allows for residents to learn about each
other and embrace friendships. All of The Woods Foundation Garden
Villa employees will have dementia-specific training, and will have
continuing education throughout their employment. The Woods Garden
Villa is currently looking for personal caregivers. Applicants do
not have to be a C.N.A., but it is preferred that they have
experience with older adults. Those interested may pick up an
application in the front lobby of TCV or may call 217-732-2189.
Tours are starting now for those interested in The Woods Foundation Garden
Villa. Residents will be able to move in starting in April. However, there are
only 12 spots available – so act fast to reserve a spot! To schedule a tour,
please call 217-732-2189.
This expansion now makes TCV a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). By
providing a full continuum of care, TCV allows residents to remain on the campus
even if their healthcare needs change. This is the only CCRC in the Logan County
area.
The Woods Foundation Garden Villa was made possible through a lead gift from The
Woods Foundation which Foundation was created through the generosity of Robert
J. Woods and Joan Jarrett Woods.
