[April 09, 2016]  April 8 (The Sports Xchange) - Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Aaron Colvin was one of four NFL players suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season on Friday for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Also drawing suspensions were Atlanta Falcons cornerback Jalen Collins, Green Bay Packers cornerback Demetri Goodson and Tennessee Titans receiver Andrew Turzilli.

The suspensions are without pay.

Colvin, entering his third season, is coming off a solid campaign in which he had 73 tackles and four sacks. He started two games last season as a rookie after being a second-round pick out of LSU.

Goodson is a backup on the Packers' defense, while Turzilli caught two passes for the Titans as a rookie.

New York Jets left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson is retiring at the age of 32 after 10 seasons in the NFL, according to reports.

Ferguson, the fourth overall pick in the 2006 draft, played every game in 10 seasons - 167 consecutive starts, including the playoffs.

Ferguson has decided to retire because he no longer feels he can play up to his standard after his performance slipped last season, a source told ESPN.

The news comes two days after the Jets asked Ferguson to take a pay cut from his $8.6 million salary in an effort to free up salary-cap space.

The Green Bay Packers released linebacker Nate Palmer, the team announced.

Palmer had 80 tackles in 24 games (12 starts) for the Packers. He started 10 games last season.
