[April 11, 2016]    April 10 (The Sports Xchange) - Former New Orleans Saints defensive end Will Smith was shot and killed Saturday night in the city's Lower Garden District after an apparent road rage incident.

The 34-year-old Smith was shot multiple times, according to law enforcement officials, after his Mercedes was rear-ended by a Hummer H2 and he exchanged words with the driver of the other vehicle. The shooting happened about 11:30 p.m. after a three-car accident.

The Denver Broncos officially traded Pro Bowl offensive tackle Ryan Clady and a seventh-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft to the New York Jets in exchange for a fifth-round selection.

Broncos executive vice president of football operations/general manager John Elway made the announcement Sunday after the news of the trade was reported by multiple media outlets the previous day.

Clady had two years and $19.5 million remaining on his previous contract with Denver, which he signed in 2013, but none of that money was guaranteed.

NFL Draft prospect Tyler Higbee was arrested Sunday morning and charged with second-degree assault, alcohol intoxication in a public place and second-degree fleeing or evading police, according to the Bowling Green Daily News.

Higbee is ranked as the fifth-best tight end in this month's draft by NFLDraftScout.com.

The 6-foot-6, 249-pound Higbee caught 38 passes for 563 yards and eight touchdowns last season. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
