71st Annual Lutheran Women’s Missionary League District Convention to be held April 22 & 23

[April 15, 2016]  LINCOLN - The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League of the Central Illinois District will hold its’ 71st annual convention on April 22nd and 23rd in Jacksonville. The theme for the convention this year will be “Create in me a Clean Heart, O God” based on Psalm 51:10.

The convention will be hosted by the Jacksonville Zone and the hosting societies will be from throughout Central Illinois.

Pre-convention activities will begin on Friday afternoon, April 22nd at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 405 Massey Lane, Jacksonville. It will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will have servant events, worship-communion service, fun and fellowship.

The convention day activities will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23rd at Salem Lutheran Church, 222 East Beecher Street, Jacksonville. Our featured speaker will be Rev. Robert Roegner who is the Senior National LWML counselor. The National LWML representative will be Nancy Bogenhagen who is Vice President of Communications.

The “Gifts from the Heart” ingathering will be for Living Alternatives and for Christ Lutheran Church to support deaf ministries.

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League is a recognized service organization of the Lutheran Church Missionary Synod which proclaims the saving faith of Jesus Christ throughout the United States and the world.

The public is invited.
