[April 21, 2016]  LINCOLN - Logan County Board Chairman David Hepler recommended to appoint Adam Schmidt to the vacant District Five Logan County Board seat on Tuesday evening. With all 11 board members present, Schmidt was unanimously approved.

Schmidt replaces Andy Anderson, who recently resigned from the board. Schmidt also plans to run as a Republican candidate for District Five in the county's November election.

Schmidt grew up on a farm in Mount Pulaski, and now resides in Lincoln. He works with the Stone Group. He and his wife have three children.

Schmidt said it was an honor to be asked to serve on the board and said he wants to help the citizens of Logan County.
