[April 26, 2016]  April 25 (The Sports Xchange) - The U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York on Monday reinstated New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's four-game suspension for his role in Deflategate.

The appeals court reversed a federal judge's ruling from September, siding with the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell in a battle with the players union.

Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel is expected to be indicted on misdemeanor assault charges on Tuesday, his attorney said.

Manziel, released by the Browns in March, was not arrested on family violence charges. Instead, Dallas police sent the case directly to a grand jury. The initial grand jury did not indict Manziel and a second convened last week.

The 23-year-old would face up to one year in jail and a $4,000 fine under Texas law.

Quarterback Sam Bradford plans to boycott the Philadelphia Eagles and demanded a trade with the expectation the franchise intends to draft its quarterback of the future with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft on Thursday.

The Eagles signed Bradford to a two-year, $36 million contract in March, and after hiring Doug Pederson to replace Chip Kelly as head coach, brought in backup Chase Daniel with a three-year deal worth up to $21 million.

Bradford, according to acting personnel boss Howie Roseman, remained entrenched as the starter even last week when the Eagles parted with a package of draft picks to acquire the No. 2 overall pick.

Cornerback Josh Norman, who signed a five-year, $75 million deal with the Washington Redskins last week, reportedly wanted to stay with the Carolina Panthers and made a last-minute attempt to sign his franchise tag.

The Panthers rescinded the tag on Wednesday, making Norman a free agent. Two days later, he signed with the Redskins.

Carolina Panthers running back Cameron Artis-Payne was arrested Sunday morning for speeding and reckless driving after being clocked driving 102 mph.

Neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor.

The Oakland Raiders are close to selling out their season tickets for the first time in franchise history.

Raiders owner Mark Davis said Sunday that his team is "on the verge" of accomplishing the historic feat.

The Cleveland Browns signed wide receiver Saalim Hakim after he participated in the team's voluntary minicamp last week on a tryout basis.

Originally signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2012, Hakim has appeared in 21 career games with the New York Jets (19 from 2013-14) and Kansas City Chiefs (two in 2015).

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed running back Storm Johnson to a contract.

Johnson played in six games for Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2014 but was waived before the start of the 2015 season.

The Denver Broncos signed tight end Garrett Graham to a one-year contract. Terms were not revealed.

Graham started 31 of 60 regular-season games and two playoff contests during his first six years with Houston. He appeared in eight contests in 2015, posting four catches for 30 yards with one touchdown. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
