[April 30, 2016]  Scoreboard operators were busy at Hopedale on Wednesday as Lincoln Heat 10U and Hopedale combined for 17 runs. Lincoln Heat 10U eventually won the offensive battle 9-8 in five innings.

The Lincoln Heat pitchers kept Hopedale to one hit as Lincoln collected nine hits, including five extra-base hits to secure the win.

But the story of the night was the season debut on the mound for Lincoln’s Jarrett Evers, who allowed no hits, two walks, and eight strikeouts in three innings of work to help secure the win for Lincoln.

At the plate, Lincoln was led by Brenden Wurth and Trey Schilling, who combined for four hits that included two doubles by Schilling, and a double by Wurth and Darren Stevens. Luke Jones and Camden Nelson collected a hit apiece.

Lincoln was very patient at the plate as the team collected and took advantage of eleven walks issued by Hopedale.

The aggressiveness on the bases was also a factor for Lincoln as Grant Laubenstien and Darren Stevens stole two bases apiece, and Colbie Glenn, Mammen, and Jones each took a base to help produce runs throughout the game.
