NHL playoff roundup: Sharks ride dominant 3rd to win

 SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Joel Ward's tiebreaking goal at 11:49 of the third enabled the San Jose Sharks to rally for a 5-2 win over the Nashville Predators on Friday night.

Ward's fourth career game-winning goal in the playoffs enabled San Jose to take a 1-0 lead in its best-of-seven Western Conference semifinal series against the Predators.

Logan Couture scored twice, while Tommy Wingels and Tomas Hertl had one each for the Sharks. Martin Jones stopped 29 of 31 shots during the win,

Ryan Johansen and Mike Fisher scored for the Predators.

Stars 2, Blues 1

DALLAS -- Radek Faksa had a goal and an assist and Kari Lehtonen stopped 31 shots for Dallas in a victory against St. Louis in Game 1 of their second-round series at American Airlines Center.

Faksa scored the eventual winner with 4:44 remaining in regulation when he tapped in a rebound after Blues goaltender Brian Elliott denied the initial shot by Ales Hemsky.

Antoine Roussel also scored for the Stars. Kevin Shattenkirk scored and Elliott stopped 40 for the Blues.
