Jeff Gordon will remain behind the wheel in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for at least two more weeks in place of Dale Earnhardt Jr., who is still dealing with concussion-related issues.

Gordon, a four-time Sprint Cup champion, will replace Earnhardt at Watkins Glen this week and again at Bristol Motor Speedway on Aug. 20. Gordon came out of retirement to race at Indianapolis and Pocono, and Alex Bowman stepped in for Earnhardt at New Hampshire on July 17.

Earnhardt admitted on "The Dale Jr. Download" podcast Monday that he is experiencing difficulties with both his balance and vision.

"The gaze issue and the problem with my eyes being able to fix on an object at a great distance and stay there with head movement -- that is the problem. When I move my head, I lose the object that I am trying to target," Earnhardt said. "That is hand-in-hand with the balance."

Earnhardt has experienced concussion-like symptoms since a crash at Michigan International Speedway in June. The 41-year-old said that he has seen limited improvement in the symptoms over the past two weeks.
