Vinegar Hill Market Days, Baseball Saturday, and the Grand Reopening of the Historic Courthouse

[August 08, 2016]   MOUNT PULASKI - On Saturday, August 13, 2016 the Mount Pulaski Business Association is holding their second Vinegar Hill Market Days.

From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Washington Street, located on the west side of the square, will be filled with approximately 22 vendors. You will find “produce, crafts, handmade items, antiques, collectibles, baked goods, plants, jewelry, clothing, and makeup” according to event coordinator, Phyllis Beccue, “and the Spanish Students will be selling hotdogs, baked goods and drinks too.”

This event is sponsored by the City of Mount Pulaski and is held once a month. The first Vinegar Hill Market Days was held July 9th. Other dates that the Market Days will be held are September 10 and October 8.

Who is your favorite baseball team…Cubbies or Cardinals?

In conjunction with Vinegar Hill Market Days is Baseball Saturday on the Square.

There will be a Pork BBQ fundraiser for Zion Lutheran Church and School from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The menu consists of pork bbq, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, dessert and drink. Tickets are available the day of the event or can be purchased ahead of time in Mount Pulaski at Johnson’s True Value, Farmers Bank, and Salt Creek Attic.

All attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite baseball teams’ jersey or gear. Family and individual pictures will be taken. Children’s games/activities are being planned and will be held on the Courthouse lawn. Please bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on and listen to the Cubs/Cards game broadcast live via the MLB XM radio.

Courthouse Grand Reopening

The Mount Pulaski Courthouse Grand Reopening Ceremony will be held on the Courthouse steps at 12:30 p.m.

Come and hear how the recent renovations went and hear about future renovations that are currently being discussed.

Join special guests, Phil and Gini Bertoni, as they cut the ceremonial ribbon in honor of Waldo and Rosalie Bertoni.

Come early and head into the Courthouse to sign the registration book and vote on what paint color you would like to eventually see the exterior of the Courthouse be. You will then be entered for a chance to win an Americana display donated by Jane Pharis.
