[August 10, 2016]  ATLANTA - Norman Kenneth Usherwood, 81, of Atlanta passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 2:22 a.m. at the Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, at the Quiram Peasley Funeral Home.

Service: None

Obituary

Norman Kenneth Usherwood, 81, of Atlanta passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 2:22 a.m. at the Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the Quiram Peasley Funeral Home.

No Service is scheduled. Cremation Rites will be accorded following the visitation.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Lincoln at a later date.

Norman Kenneth Usherwood was born in Eminence Township on October 13, 1934 the son of Louis B. and Doris Lucille Dunn Usherwood. He was united in marriage to Thressia Parks on October 15, 1955. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons: K. Bradley (Gina) Usherwood of Farmington, Missouri, Ronald (Denice) Usherwood of Taos, New Mexico, Douglas W. (Jeanette) Usherwood of Atlanta. Eleven grandchildren: Matthew Usherwood, Katie Usherwood, Chelsea Usherwood, Paige Usherwood, Brandon Usherwood, Rian Wilson, Kara Israel, Drew Wilson, NIck Wilson, Anne Usherwood, Sydnee Usherwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Jack Usherwood , George Usherwood.

Kenny was the last of his immediate family.

Kenny graduated from Atlanta High School in 1952 He then served in the United States Army from 1954 until 1956.

He retired from Lehn and Fink Inc. in Lincoln after 35 years of service. He also owned and operated the Usherwood Tax and Bookkeeping service in Atlanta for many years.

Kenny was a member of the Atlanta United Methodist Church , Atlanta Lions Club, Atlanta, Masonic Lodge.

Memorials may be made to the Hawes Elevator Museum or Atlanta Rescue Squad.
