[August 23, 2016]  OBLONG - James D. “Jim” Follis, 85, formerly of Mount Pulaski and Springfield passed away at his home in Oblong, surrounded by his loving family at 3:20 p.m. on August 17, 2016.

Visitation: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski

Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Obituary

James D. “Jim” Follis, 85, formerly of Mount Pulaski and Springfield passed away at his home in Oblong, surrounded by his loving family at 3:20 p.m. on August 17, 2016.

Jim was born on May 7, 1931 in Logan County, son of James B. and Virgie Febus Follis. He married Judith “Judy” Burtle on February 15, 1964 in Springfield. She survives him.

Also surviving Jim are his children: Kim (Steve) McCain of Oblong, James David (Pam) Follis III of Las Vegas, NV, and Samuel (Lucy) Follis of Palos Verdes, CA; thirteen grandchildren: Laura, Leanna, Lisa, Angela, Casey, Lindsey, Kyleigh, Brandon, Zach, Faith, Hope, Caleb, and Angie; ten great-grandchildren: Wesley, Athena, Gage, Reese, Salem, Ezra D., Riven, Felix, Gaven, and Soren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Lynn Boychenko, one great-granddaughter Cora, three sisters and one brother.

Jim was a carpenter and a farmer. He was a member of Lake Fork Christian Church.

Services for Jim will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday August 23, 2016 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with Mark Weber officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to service also at funeral home. Burial at Steenbergen Cemetery will the follow the service.

Memorials may be made in Jim’s name to Heir Christian Service Camp.
