Local Athletes participate in Special Olympics Bowling tournament

[August 27, 2016]  LINCOLN - More than 200 athletes competed in the Special Olympics Illinois Central/Area 10 Bowling Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 20, at Spare Time Lanes in Decatur.

The athletes from four counties (Christian, Logan, Macon and Moultrie) have been training all spring and summer. Individual results are attached to this email.

Athletes bowled three games in an attempt to win a gold medal in their division. There was singles, doubles, team and ramp bowling competition.

The Central/Area 10 bowling tournament was sponsored by the Decatur Knights of Columbus Council #577 and Custom Trophies. Members of the Decatur Women’s Bowling Association and Decatur Bowling Association cooperated to run the tournament, along with AMBUCS, the Golden K’s and many other dedicated volunteers
