[November 30, 2016]  The 2016 Minier Christmas Parade will be on Saturday, December 3rd starting at 2 p.m. Leading the parade will be Grand Marshals – The Minier Historical Society members who are working on the 150th year celebration of the founding of the town of Minier. During 2017 be sure to look for events pertaining to the 150th year.

At the front of the parade the marching Spartans will share the music of the holiday season. New this year are Christmas characters - be on the lookout for the Grinch - and Anna and Elsa from the movie “FROZEN.” Of course, Santa’s arrival is always eagerly anticipated, and he will be in the parade and then greet children at the Minier Fire Station afterwards to hear their Christmas wishes. Anna and Elsa will also be at the Fire Station to meet with children and have pictures taken with them.

With this year’s theme “Pick Up the Christmas Spirit,” we hope to have lots of decorated pick-up trucks entered in the parade. Dig out the lights, the garland, the Santa’s and the snowmen and regale those trucks. Of course floats are an essential part of every parade, so plan yours and fill out an entry form. Entry forms can be found on the Olympia Kiwanis Facebook page, at Minier.com or at the Minier Village Office.

Again this year, there will be a Vendors’ Fair at the Masonic Lodge from 11 a.m. until 4p.m. Local home businesses and crafters will be on hand for Christmas shopping. You’re sure to find just the right gift for everyone on your list. Be sure to register for a door prize that will be awarded at 4 p.m.
