Mount Pulaski to hold "Bring on the Lights" lighting contest AND Christmas parade

[December 09, 2016]   MOUNT PULASKI - The Mount Pulaski Business Association is proud to partner with local businesses Downing, Przykopanski, Clements, & May Insurance, Deron Powell State Farm Insurance, Andy Stukins Country Financial, and Hilltop Catering to sponsor Mount Pulaski’s First “Bring on the Lights” Outside Christmas Light Decorations Contest.

To enter the contest, each participant must complete an entry form and submit a $ 10 entry fee to Johnson’s True Value Hardware Store in Mount Pulaski. Entry forms are available at Johnson’s True Value and on the Mount Pulaski Business Association Facebook page. Entry forms are due November 30, 2016.

Cash prizes for People’s choice includes First place of $ 150, Second place of $ 100, and Third place of $ 50. People’s choice voting will begin on December 10, 2016 and end on December 24, 2016.

Ballots and maps will be available at the following voting sites: Johnson’s True Value Hardware Store, The Farmers Bank of Mount Pulaski, Salt Creek Attic, and the Mount Pulaski Library. Vote for your favorite Christmas Light display by returning your ballot and $ 1 per vote to one of the voting sites.

Lighted Christmas Parade December 10th

The association is also putting together a second new event in clelbration of Christmas in Mount Pulaski.

The Lighted Christmas Parade will be Saturday, December 10th starting at 5 p.m.

The parade will run the normal Mount Pulaski Parade Route, from the high school to the Square on Washington Street.

Santa Claus will bring up the end of the parade, and will stop in front of the Mount Pulaski Courthouse for a time of vivisting with local children.

The public is invited.
