LCHS Speech team brings home two champion medals

[December 13, 2016]  LINCOLN - The Lincoln Community High School Speech Team crowned two champions Saturday at the Bloomington High School tournament. 

Junior Justin Woods took the varsity Humorous Interpretation event and junior Emma Cooper took the junior varsity Dramatic Interpretation title.

Other finalists were senior Claire Conrady and Woods, 2nd in varsity Humorous Duet Acting; juniors Cooper and Shannon Rahn, 2nd in varsity Dramatic Duet Acting; junior Ethan Keller, 4th in junior varsity Dramatic Interpretation; and sophomore Hunter McKinney and freshman Ella Burton, 7th in junior varsity Dramatic Duet Acting.



"Justin and Emma killed it today," head coach Julie Tanner said Saturday. "They worked hard all week, and Emma nearly won both events. They share MVP honors this week."

Overall, the team placed 10th out of ​20 schools. The team travels this Saturday to Illinois Central College in East Peoria.
