[December 21, 2016]    Dec 20 (The Sports Xchange) - The Sacramento Kings fined DeMarcus Cousins a reported $50,000 after the center berated a Sacramento Bee reporter last Monday, the Sacramento Bee reported. Cousins will not be suspended for the incident.

Cousins took issue with a column written by Bee writer Andy Furillo.

The story mentioned Cousins' brother Jaleel and cited a confrontation involving Cousins at a Tampa-area bar last spring.

"Don't ever mention my brother again," a video showed Cousins saying to Furillo.

"You say whatever the (expletive) you want to say about me, but don't mention my (expletive) family."

Cousins apologized to the team but not to the reporter in a statement released by the Kings.

Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and will be sidelined from four to six weeks.

The Clippers said Griffin had "loose bodies" removed from the knee. The club also described the surgery as "routine."

Griffin, who can be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, is averaging 21.2 points, 8.8 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 26 games this season.

Houston Rockets center Clint Capela has a small fracture in his left fibula and will miss approximately four to six weeks, the team announced.

Capela suffered the leg injury during Saturday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Capela, 22, has been a key player for the Rockets, who own the NBA's longest current winning streak with 10 straight victories. Capela, averaging 11.8 points and eight rebounds, became the starter after Dwight Howard left as a free agent. (Editing by Larry Fine) ))
