[December 27, 2016]  SPRINGFIELD – Memorial Health System was among the top 10 healthcare organizations in the nation to be recognized for its commitment to leadership development.

The National Center for Healthcare Leadership identified 19 healthcare organizations as frontrunners in using evidence-based leadership development practices to improve healthcare in their communities. Memorial Health System was the only Illinois healthcare organization among the honorees.

The National Center for Healthcare Leadership bestows its annual Best Organizations for Leadership Development (BOLD) award on the highest ranked organizations in its national health leadership survey.

In addition to the top 10, nine other organizations were recognized as Organizations of Distinction.

"Memorial is committed to developing leaders who not only embody our mission to improve the health of the people and communities we serve, but also are ready to succeed in a challenging healthcare environment," said Aimee Allbritton, vice president of organization development and chief learning officer for Memorial Health System.

The BOLD award promotes sound leadership development practices as a critically important responsibility for healthcare organizations and their senior leaders. This year's honorees were recognized last month at a conference in Chicago.
