[December 28, 2016]  McLEAN - Robert J. Wilcox, 78, of McLean passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 at 5:30 a.m. at Heritage Health Care Center in Normal.

Funeral Services are pending at the Quiram Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta.

Service: Private graveside services are planned.

Obituary

Robert J. Wilcox, 78, ended life's journey on Monday, December 26, 2016, at Heritage Health Care in Normal.

Private graveside services are planned. Burial will be in the McLean Cemetery. Military Rites to be accorded by Burger-Benedict McLean American Legion Post #573.

Robert Joseph Wilcox was born July 21, 1938, in Bloomington, the son of Grant and Anna Newell Wilcox.

Survivors include Connie (Wayne) Lee, Karen (Ron) Storms, Jeff (Pam) Wilcox, Scott (Deb) Wilcox, and Jennifer (Chip) Denham.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: John (Betty) Wilcox and Grant Wilcox, Jr.; niece Kay Ann Wilcox and nephew John C. Wilcox.

 

Funeral Director

Robert was the Valedictorian of his 1956 graduating class at McLean High School. He also graduated from the University of Illinois Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree in Advertising. He served in the U.S. Army in Army Intelligence. Robert had worked for Armstrong Flooring, as a salesman for WJBC, and Food Glorious Food. He was an avid gardener and had many special interests.

Uncle Bob was a special uncle to his nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Normal Heritage Health Care for his special care over many years.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Hope-Funks Grove Fire and Rescue.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
