[December 29, 2016]    Dec 28 (The Sports Xchange) - New York Knicks president Phil Jackson and Los Angeles Lakers executive Jeanie Buss have ended their engagement and long-distance relationship.

The NBA power couple had been a couple for 17 years but announced the separation together in a statement posted to Jackson's Twitter account on Tuesday night.

Jackson, 71, and the 55-year-old Buss dated since 1999 and became engaged over the 2012 Christmas holiday.

Houston Rockets swingman Trevor Ariza wasn't willing to let his night end after being ejected from Tuesday's contentious game against the Dallas Mavericks.

All told, there were eight technicals and two flagrant fouls in the Rockets' 123-107 win over the Mavs, in addition to Ariza's ejection at the end of the third quarter.

Flanked by teammates Patrick Beverley, James Harden and Eric Gordon, Ariza waited for Dallas center Salah Mejri outside the Mavs' locker room. Ariza was upset that Mejri said something about his wife and kids, according to multiple reports.

Mavs guard Deron Williams met with the quartet of Rockets to try to defuse the situation. Security and Dallas police were on hand to make sure events didn't escalate.

The Cleveland Cavaliers assigned guard Kay Felder to the Canton Charge of the NBA Development League on Wednesday.

Felder has been in 14 games for the Cavs this season, averaging 4.9 points in 10.4 minutes per game.
