[December 30, 2016]  LINCOLN - The Lincoln Police Department and City of Lincoln is teaming with Nixle to offer public safety announcements via cell phones and emails. With more and more people moving away from land line telephones, the reverse 911 system may not contact everyone. So we encourage users of cell phones to sign up with Nixie to receive notices from the City Fire and Police Departments.

You can sign up for Nixle on your cell phone or your email by visiting Nixle Website. Messages will be in a text format and you will not receive phone calls from the system. You will not be signed up to any advertisement systems by registering for this service. Simply put, this is to help keep you informed!
You can also simply sign up by texting 62656 to 888777 on your mobile phone.

You may also sign up through the city of Lincoln Website: https://www.lincolnil.gov/.

After signing up, you will receive a single opt in welcome message. Reply YES to continue to receive SMS text messages. You may opt out at any point by sending STOP to 888777 . Send HELP to 888777 for information.
