The Trojans defeated Beardstown 72-24 and edged Chatham
46-44.
“It’s been a while since we were able to go to Chatham and
defeat them,” stated coach Dawson, “and the kids wrestled well.”
The key match of the night against Chatham was 145 lb.,Alex
Bogdanic who suffered only his second loss on the season, but
battled well before losing 7-0.
Finishing the night 2-0 for the Trojans were 100 lb. Ryan
Hillyer, 112 lb. Austin O’Donoghue, 119 lb. Trevor Bree, 126 lb.
Brandon Sweitzer, 135 lb. David Pappach, 155 lb. Trenton Wright,
167 lb. Bryan Garza and HWT Demitri Harris.
Finishing 1-1 were 70 lb. Jaden Frainer, 95 lb. Lucas Hurt, 145
lb. Alex Bogdanic, and 185 lb. Justin Horchem.
In JV action Tony Gandolfi, and Cade Tanner both won their
match.
Next up for the Trojans is a meet this evening against Auburn
and Mt. Zion in Auburn at 6 p.m.
