Springfield woman dies in crash near Elkhart

[February 13, 2016]  LINCOLN - The Logan County Coroner, Robert Thomas, has announced that Patricia A. Harris, age 75, of Springfield, was pronounced dead at 9:09 am on February 10, 2016 after a two vehicle collision. The crash was at the intersection of 200th Avenue and 700thth Street, rural Elkhart, Illinois.

Ms. Harris was driving north on 200th Avenue when she collided at the intersection with a vehicle that was traveling east on 700th Street. There was one occupant in each vehicle. Ms. Harris was pronounced deceased at the accident scene. The other driver was taken to a Springfield hospital. The crash is under investigation by the Logan County Sheriff’s Department and the Logan County Coroner’s Office.

An autopsy for Ms. Harris was performed and the results are pending.
