[February 17, 2016]  TAMPA, Fla. -- The San Jose Sharks continued their strong play on the road, pulling out a 4-2 win Tuesday to hand the Tampa Bay Lightning their fourth loss in five games.

The Sharks got third-period goals from Matt Nieto and Melker Karlsson for the difference in the game. Joe Pavelski and Joel Ward also scored for San Jose.

Ryan Callahan Cedric Paquette scored for the Lightning, who dropped four of five games now, putting them in a tight pack for the final playoff spots in the Eastern Conference. The Lightning came into the night tied with Pittsburgh for the eighth and final spot in the playoffs, while San Jose came in third in its division, one point out of second.

Capitals 3, Kings 1

WASHINGTON -- Evgeny Kuznetsov scored the game-winner with 2:02 left, Philipp Grubauer made 39 saves and Washington defeated Los Angeles.

Andre Burakovsky had a goal and an assist, and Jason Chimera (empty netter) also scored for th Capitals, who are 15-1-1 in their last 17 at home.

Anze Kopitar scored for the Kings while Jonathan Quick made 29 saves. The Kings fell to 1-3 on their six-game road trip.

Bruins 2, Blue Jackets 1 (OT)

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Loui Eriksson scored a tap-in goal 33 seconds into overtime, leading Boston over Columbus at Nationwide Arena.

Patrice Bergeron also scored for the Bruins, while Tuukka Rask made 28 stops.

The Blue Jackets' only goal was scored on a first-period penalty shot by Alexander Wennberg. Joonas Korpisalo, making his 10th consecutive start in place of injured starter Sergei Bobrovsky, finished with 28 saves.

Flyers 6, Devils 3

NEWARK, N.J. -- Wayne Simmonds and Nick Cousins scored 50 seconds apart in the third period to lift Philadelphia over New Jersey at Prudential Center.

Jakub Voracek, Ryan White, Shayne Gostisbehere and Brayden Schenn also scored for the Flyers while Michal Neuvirth made 21 saves.

Kyle Palmeiri, Jordin Tootoo and Tyler Kennedy scored for the Devils and Cory Schneider stopped 20 of 25 shots.

Hurricanes 2, Jets 1

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Jordan Staal and Riley Nash scored power-play goals as Carolina defeated Winnipeg at PNC Arena.

Staal opened the scoring in the first period and Nash added his tally in the second period. Carolina had not produced two power-play goals in the same game in almost two months.

Blake Wheeler scored in the third period for the Jets, who had won in their previous five visits to Raleigh.

Senators 2, Sabres 1 (SO)

OTTAWA -- Bobby Ryan and Kyle Turris scored in the shootout as Ottawa outlasted Buffalo in a shootout at Canadian Tire Centre to snap a three-game losing streak.

Matt Moulson ended a personal 44-game slump by scoring for the Sabres in the first period, while Ryan Dzingel replied with the first goal of his NHL career for the Senators.

Much of the rest of the night belonged to Craig Anderson, who made 38 saves. Robin Lehner stopped 25 shots for the Sabres.

Blues 2, Stars 1 (OT)

ST. LOUIS -- Kevin Shattenkirk scored on a power play 1:11 into overtime to give St. Louis a victory over Dallas.

The win improved the Blues' record to 4-0-1 in their last five games and snapped the Stars' four-game winning streak. The Blues pulled within five points of the first-place Stars in the Central Division.

Jaden Schwartz scored for the Blues and Mattias Janmark scored his 13th goal of the year off a rebound of a shot by left winger Valeri Nichushkin for the Stars.

Ducks 5, Oilers 3

EDMONTON, Alberta -- Hampus Lindholm tipped in a picture-perfect pass from Rickard Rakell at 5:35 of the third period to snap a tie and give red-hot Anaheim a victory over Edmonton.

Anaheim is 10-1-1 in its last 12 games and moved to within three points of the Los Angeles Kings for the Pacific Division lead.



Andrew Cogliano, Corey Perry, David Perron and Jakob Silfverberg scored for the Ducks while Benoit Pouliot, Leon Draisaitl and Taylor Hall scored for the Oilers.
