 The Athletic Directors have met twice to work out athletic
schedules. “We are grateful for the work our Athletic Directors have
already put into the athletic component of the proposed conference.
From an academic standpoint, we are excited that we will be able to
help one another work on Professional Development for our faculty as
well as educational and leadership opportunities for our students,”
said Sean Foster, President of the Corn Belt Conference and
Principal at Central Catholic High School.
Okaw Valley President and The High School of St. Thomas More
Principal, Ryan Bustle added, “We truly appreciate the cooperation
of all of the schools. As educators, we have and always will believe
the purpose of the conference is to serve the needs of all of our
students.” Both conferences bring successful faculty and staff
programs and a dedication to educating the whole student through
strong educational programs that include a commitment to fine arts.
The conference proposal will be taken back to each school's
Superintendent and Board of Education for consideration at the
school's March Board meeting. If approved, the conference would
start in 2017-2018. Naming the new conference will include student
input to be brought back to the principals who will meet later this
academic year to propose a name.

The proposed conference would bring together the following high schools: Central
Catholic (Bloomington), Illinois Valley Central (Chillicothe), Olympia
(Stanford), Pontiac, and Prairie Central (Fairbury) from the Corn Belt
Conference and The High School of St. Thomas More (Champaign), Monticello,
Rantoul, St. Joseph-Ogden (St. Joseph), and Unity (Tolono) from the Okaw Valley
Conference.
