Twelve local seniors announcement commitments to colleges

[February 19, 2016]  On Wednesday, twelve seniors at Lincoln Community High School announced their commitments to colleges as student-athletes for next school year.  The following profiles of each student were provided by LCHS Athletic/Activities Director, Sam Knox.


Garrett Aeilts

Parents: Michelle Ryan & Don Aeilts Sport: Basketball & Baseball College: Lincoln Christian University

Anticipated Major: Public Relations & Sports Broadcasting

Why do you feel this college is the right choice for you?

I will get to continue to play two sports I love. LCU is the right size, and I will get to be around good people. I felt welcomed by both the basketball and baseball teams.

Awards: LCHS record for 3-pointers in a game (10)

Sage Conrady

Parents: Gary & Valerie Conrady

Sport: Football

College: McKendree University

Anticipated Major: Undecided

Why do you feel this college is the right choice for you?

McKendree is a good school in a small town like Lincoln with St. Louis only 30 minutes away. It's a small, private university allowing better academics than many other schools. I also like the successful football program which feels like a good fit for me.

Holly Davis

Why do you feel this college is the right choice for you?

They have an outstanding Softball program and are going to allow me to pursue my dreams of playing at the next level and at a top 01 program.

K.J. Fry

Why do you feel this college is the right choice for you?

I want to continue playing baseball while staying in my hometown.

Cooper Hake

I picked Kankakee Community College because I think it will make me a better baseball player and person. I also think it will enhance my education.
