More than $150 billion is given to college students each year through FAFSA. Completing the form is the first step in getting state and federal student aid. To complete the FAFSA, the following items are needed:

  • Most recent federal income tax forms
  • A driver’s license or state ID
  • Amount of any untaxed income received

Those filing as a dependent should bring their parents’ tax forms. Though not required, W2 forms are helpful to have when filling out the FAFSA application.

Scholarship Workshop – Thursday, February 25 (3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.)

Heartland has several scholarship opportunities available for students. For the 2015-16 school year, the HCC Foundation awarded 188 scholarships in tuition support. There are more to give for the 2016-17 school year.
