Lincoln Junior High School Girls Volleyball

[February 25, 2016]  Last weekend, the Lincoln Junior High School seventh grade girls volleyball team played in the Champaign Jefferson seventh grade tournament and placed second.

The first match they played St. Matthew and won in two games 27-25 and 25-17.

Stats for the game were:

Sesleigh Peacock - 2 aces
Jacey Cooper - 2 aces, 4 kills, 6 service points
Ashley Schmidt - 4 kills, 4 assits
Elise Dawson - 3 kills, 1 block

The second game of the day they played Tuscola and won in two 25-11 and 25-10.

The stats from the game were:

Ashley Schmidt: 6 aces, 4 assists
Autumn Shaffer - 4 aces
Jacey Cooper - 5 kills
Elise Dawson - 4 kills

The last match of the day was against the host school Champaign Jefferson for the championship. The Trojans lost in two games 19-25 and 21-25.

Stats from the game were:

Elise Dawson - 4 aces, 3 kills
Ashley Schmidt - 3 assists

The Trojans then travelled to Parkside on Tuesday where the seventh and eighth grade teams both lost in two games.

The seventh grade games were 17-25 and 14-25.

Stats were:

Autumn Shaffer - 3 service points, 2 aces
Jasmine Davis - 3 kills
Ashley Schmidt - 3 assists

The eighth grade lost in two 19-25 and 9-25.

Stats were:

Kaylee Winebrinner: 2 aces, 2 assists, 5 service points
Sydney Sutherland: 2 kills
Elise Dawson - 2 kills
Lynzie Luster - 2 assists
Timbre Karrick - 4 service points

Thursday night the Trojans took on the Chargers of Chiddix.

The seventh grade team won in two games 25 - 13 and 25-19.

Stats from the game were:

Sesleigh Peacock: 5 aces, 13 service points
Jacey Cooper - 3 kills, 9 service points
Jasmine Davis - 3 kills
Ashley Schmidt - 2 kills, 5 assists
Ava Gorens - 2 kills
Ryen Stoltzenburg - 2 kills, 9 service points

The eighth grade team lost in two games 14-25, 9-25.

Stats from the game were:

Claire Hill - 3 aces, 1 assist, 6 service points
Sydney Sutherland -2 aces, 1 kill


The Trojans will end their season tonight (Thursday) with a home game as well as eighth grade night and Teacher Appreciation Night starting with a sixth grade match at 5:00 p.m.

Please come out and support the Lady Trojans.

The seventh-graders will start their Regional on Saturday at Maroa-Forsyth where they will be taking on Warrensburg-Latham at 10:00 a.m.
