[February 25, 2016]  Feb 25 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Wednesday's National Basketball Association games:

Thunder 116, Mavericks 103

Oklahoma City is a frustrating team to play. Just when an opponent thinks it has the Thunder where they want them, their explosive offense comes alive and turns a close game into a rout.

Oklahoma City's victory over Dallas served as the perfect example. The Thunder's roller coaster had its typical ups and downs, leading by 10 in the first quarter and 12 in the second.

Yet Oklahoma City constantly had to fend off Dallas scoring bursts but a sluggish start to the second half saw the Thunder lose the lead for the first time in the game three minutes into the third quarter.

The Thunder reawakened and went on a tear halfway through the period, outscoring the Mavs 22-10 in the next seven minutes for a blink-of-the-eye 96-81 lead early in the fourth that they rode all the way to the finish.

Cavaliers 114, Hornets 103

LeBron James rebounded from one of his worst games of the season to score 23 points and Channing Frye had 15 points off the bench in his second game with his new team, guiding Cleveland to a victory over Charlotte on Wednesday.

James matched a season low with 12 points and committed six turnovers in Monday's loss to the Detroit Pistons but returned to form after a little rest.

Kyrie Irving scored 23 points and J.R. Smith had 16 for the Cavs, who won for the sixth time in their last seven games. Cavs center Tristan Thompson grabbed 10 rebounds and guard Matthew Dellavedova had 10 points and seven assists off the bench.

Warriors 118, Heat 112

Point guard Stephen Curry scored 42 points and shooting guard Klay Thompson added 33 points as the Golden State Warriors rallied to defeat the Miami Heat 118-112 at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Thompson had a streak of 15 straight Warriors points in the fourth quarter. Curry added seven assists and seven rebounds.

The Warriors, the quickest team to 50 wins in NBA history, also got 10 points and 11 rebounds from forward Draymond Green. Golden State is 14-1 in its past 15 games.

Miami was led by guard Dwyane Wade's 32 points, his second 30-plus game this season. The Heat also got 21 points and 13 rebounds from center Hassan Whiteside and a career-high 15 points from guard Josh Richardson.

The Heat had its three-game win streak snapped.

Pacers 108, Knicks 105

Paul George scored 25 of his 27 points in the second half and rookie Myles Turner finished with 24, helping Indiana hold off New York in Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

New York, which got 22 points from rookie Kristaps Porzingis and 20 from Jose Calderon, had an opportunity to take the lead with 11.1 seconds to play but Porzingis missed a three-pointer.

Turner turned around and made 1-of-2 free throws after grabbing the rebound and being fouled.

The Knicks had one last chance to tie but Carmelo Anthony missed a three-pointer with less than a second to play.

Raptors 114, Timberwolves 105

DeMar DeRozan scored 31 points, including a couple of big three-point shots in the final two minutes as Toronto defeated Minnesota.

Kyle Lowry, who snapped the tie with a three-pointer, added 21 points. Reserve Corey Joseph scored 18 points and Jonas Valanciunas had 14 points and seven rebounds. Reserve Bismack Biyombo had 11 rebounds and six points.

Andrew Wiggins, a Toronto native, scored 26 points for Minnesota. Gorgui Dieng added 21 points with eight rebounds, Karl-Anthony Towns had 16 and reserve Shabazz Muhammad contributed 10 points.

The Pistons had six players in double figures while winning their second straight after a season-high five-game losing streak.

Bulls 109, Wizards 104

Doug McDermott scored all 14 of his points during the second half and Chicago outlasted Washington.

Bulls center Pau Gasol scored 10 points and pulled down 15 rebounds for 32nd double-double of the season.

Taj Gibson and E'Twaun Moore added 17 points apiece. Chicago won its third straight game despite playing without injured guards Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler.

The Grizzlies' 128 points marked a season high. Los Angeles lost its seventh straight, six of the defeats coming on the road.

Jamal Crawford and J.J. Redick scored 20 points apiece for the Clippers, who had beaten Denver in the previous six meetings at Staples Center. Chris Paul had 17 points, 10 assists and six rebounds.

Spurs 108, Kings 92

Tony Parker scored 23 points and San Antonio dumped Sacramento.

Parkers made 11-of-17 shots from the field and added six assists for the Spurs. He also led San Antonio's 25-7 run that bridged the third and fourth quarters, ending Sacramento's hopes.

Kawhi Leonard returned from a three-game absence caused by a strained calf and scored 18 points for the Spurs, who pushed their winning streak to three games.

Sacramento's DeMarcus Cousins scored all but one of his team-high 22 points in the second half and also grabbed 10 rebounds. (Editing by John O'Brien)
