Wolverines win two at home
Seventh grade team prepared for Logan County tournament

[January 05, 2016]  West Lincoln-Broadwell hosted Springfield Christian on Tuesday night and won two contests versus the Wildcats.

In the 7th grade opener, WLB (9-6) won 28-18.

Lucas Konczyk led the Wolverines with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Patrick McCraith and Scotty Battin each scored 5 in the victory while both Daulton Miller and Andre McAdams recorded 2 points.

In the nightcap, WLB 8th grade(14-1) overcame a 14-4 first quarter lead by the Wildcats to win by a final of 52-38.

Dreyden Pozgai paced the Wolverine with 14 points while Kameron Whiteman (13 points and 7 assists) and Kaden Froebe (13 points with 6 assists) took turns scoring and finding the open shooters. Joe Dalpoas (10 points) and Payton Anderson (2) also contributed to the victory.

The Wolverines next play this Saturday in the 7th grade Logan County Conference Tournament, hosted by Carroll Catholic.

The 4th seeded Wolverines will face off the Hartsburg-Emden Stags at 10:00 a.m., with the winner advancing to the second round to face the top-seeded Crusaders at noon. At 11:15 a.m. the seconded seeded Bruins of Mount Pulaski will take on the Panthers from Chester-East Lincoln.

All games will once again be played at Jack D. Nutt Arena on the campus of Lincoln College.
